Sound Beast ~ The Band

Chris Borton
Christopher Borton has played drums and percussion in a wide variety of bands, ranging from heavy metal and Top-40 to jazz standards. He grew up in the Bay Area but for the last 10 years he has been a percussionist with the Butte Symphony Orchestra and the Butte Big Band Jazz Ensemble of Montana. Chris has toured bi-annually with the Unconservatory Festival Orchestra out of Miami, FL which is a fusion band blending progressive rock, jazz, Latin, and classical. His rock influences over the years have been Rush, later Miles Davis, Return to Forever, Dream Theater, Avenged Sevenfold, Porcupine Tree, Tool …far too many to name. For over 20 years he has called Whitehall, Montana his home.

Tony Sanchez
Tony is a seasoned musician and songwriter. He majored and received a degree in music at DeAnza College in Cupertino, CA. In his last band, Doc Freud, which was located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Doc Freud opened shows for many popular “80’s” bands. Some of the bands included Blue Oyster Cult, Ronnie Montrose, and Pat Travers. They also headlined for many of their own concerts.

Tony uses LB 5 string Carvin With a 4 Pro Ampeg and 8 x 10 speaker cabinet as well as other professional equipment. His musical goal is to play, play, play, and play some more.
Musical influences are the early three piece power bands including Cream, Rush, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Mountain, Black Sabbath, as well as newer groups.

John English
John has been writing and performing original music for over 20 years. He’s played in punk, bluegrass and folk bands, but metal and heavy rock has always been the mainstay. John is from southwest Montana and grew up on a steady diet of Hum, Dokken, Smashing Pumpkins, Maiden, Korn, Rush, Coheed, Zeppelin and Cheap Trick. For him, playing in a band is definitely a dream realized. Rock on.

Bill von Brethorst
Bill played in bands back in the midwest for years such as Addison Grace and others and was part of the original music scene from that era including Head East, Cheap Trick and REO. His Illinois bands opened back in the 70’s for groups like STYX (the original lineup). Bill writes and performs but has been out of the music Scene for some time owing to business, but got back in a couple of years ago, playing bass for TEST123 and Andy Grohmiller. His real love is Guitar.

Bill plays a Studio 1950 Les Paul edition and has a complete Blackstar rig using multiple amps and speakers.
Musical influences are also early three piece power bands including Cream, Rush, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Mountain, Black Sabbath, as well as newer groups.
